Bed bugs
Bed bugs are about 1/4 to 5/8 inch long, brown reddish in color, an oval shape
and do not have wings and are quite small parasitic insect that needs to be eliminated. Bed bugs normally feed at night on warm blooded animals including humans. Bed bugs are mostly active at night and live close to their food source.
Bed Bugs Inspection
Bed bugs can be found in folds, tufts of mattresses, coils of springs, hollow posts of bed stands, bed rails, headboards, box springs, inside the cabinetry of furniture and the bottom and sides of drawers, behind loose wallpaper, behind pictures on the walls, under door and window casings, behind baseboards, and other cracks and crevices.
Damage By Bed Bugs
Bed bugs are not considered to be disease carriers but sometimes they can be harmful as they do suck blood from their host with piercing mouth parts but the bite is painless. Once a bed bug bites, the skin becomes irritated or inflamed due to the salivary fluid injected by the bed bugs and it shows up in a small, hard, swollen, white welt at the site of each bite.
