Carpenter Bees
Carpenter bees are large and have a black shiny tail section. These are the black and yellow bees normally seen in spring hovering around the roof of a house or the underside of a deck or porch rail. The male Carpenter bee has a yellow face and the female is black. Carpenter bees target the wooden decks, overhangs and exposed wood on houses.
