Ever seen a baby bat?

Cute at this age, anyway!

 A Baby Bat

This picture was taken after the parents of the bat were scared out of cellar. This little guy was stuck up in a corner all by himself; baby bats are not that dangerous at this age, but always should only be handled by a licensed professional! – this baby was about a week old. They are actually cute and definitely not ‘pet’ material. Remember, they are a vector rabies species.

Don’t try this at home either

Here’s one of the baby raccoons pulled from a mobile home in East Hartford. – In all there were a mom 12 babies. This photo is of the daughter of the trapper holding one of the babies they found. She then took the babies to a rehabber in Suffield to grow into adults.

They don’t look like raccoons at 2 weeks old, but man, they are precious and so innocent!

Our rehabber in the process of feeding the baby a formula, which takes the place of
momma raccoon. Here the babies get their proper nourishment and can play and grow
with their sibblings. Contrary to popular belief, raccoons do not make great pets because
they are born wild and will always have that basic instinct. Once the babies reach a certain
age, they will be let back into their natural habitat.

Please. Don’t try this at home! | skunk removal

It’s not a stretch to say that we have the best wildlife handlers in the state of Connecticut. Take skunk removal for instance. Our guys are respectful of the animal and of homeowners as well. This can be tricky ground to navigate sometimes when a critter who belongs in the wild shows up on your doorstep looking to have a good time.

So we just wanted you to know two things:

1. No animals were harmed in the slightest in the making of this motion picture.
2. Please don’t try this at home.

Enjoy!

Squirrel Teamwork!

Squirrels are much smarter than we give them credit for. Check this out:

A client recently sealed up her soffit that squirrels originally got into, then 2 days later these same squirrels climbed back up the house and chewed into the wooden vent – the 2 squirrels (in this case) worked in tandem- taking breaks between chewing! Both were absolutely determined to get back in. We were called to the scene and the photo here is what we saw. Pretty funny and smart once they have their minds made up.
